The WandaVision Cake and Disney Springs Updates

As an avid Disney fan, I love hearing about what's happening at the parks-and sharing what's happening too! On March 3rd I went to Disney Springs to meet up with friends and I have all the details on what's happening there (everything from stores to the popular WandaVision cake!)

The Disney Springs trip began with a temperature check, then we met up with our friends and got pretzels on the top floor of the Coca-Cola Store. I had actually never been there, so I ended up walking the flights of stories instead of taking the elevator... a great way to get your steps in but definitely something to keep in mind during your visit. Once we reached the open rooftop, we had a beautiful view of the Springs, and so many picture opportunities!

As for the stores, we entered World of Disney to see if there were any new arrivals. Masks are still $10 a piece, with a variety of choices (I showed these on my YouTube channel). I own a Stitch mask but the Spiderman and Captain America ones are definitely calling my name.

The newest popular item seemed to be the nuiMO toys. These nuiMOs are a mix between dolls and plushies and come in a variety of characters- our friends got Stitch and Angel! Plus, they come with accessories, like clothes! While they do seem adorable for children, our friends did have a bit of difficulty putting the clothes and shoes on the toys. I feel as though since they are kids toys, it should be more child friendly. In all honesty, they weren't that expensive, and I'm always on the lookout for good deals and ways to not break the bank. There was also a TON of Raya and The Last Dragon toys and merchandise!

As an big WandaVision fan myself, you can imagine my excitement when I realized this Disney Springs trip was the perfect opportunity to get the WandaVision cake at Amorette's Patisserie, a bakery. It's a small layered cake decorated in fondant to appear like an old school television. The coolest part? Every week they change the picture on the screen to match the newest episode of the show. The only downside: it's $20. I don't like to splurge and I knew spending that much on a small cake wouldn't be ideal. However, I think it's really important to have a good relationship with money, so I took the opportunity to treat myself. To my surprise, it turned out I had some money left on a gift card and was able to get the cake for only $13! Wayyy closer to my price range. I went at around 4-5 in the afternoon, and I was happy to find that there were still WandaVision cakes left, with more than one version of the "screens" available! However, something I noticed was that they didn't ask me which one I wanted. I took it to go and the most beautiful cast member packaged it in a box for me - he was so attractive y'all. But anyways, back to the cake. It was stunning to look at, almost too pretty to eat! With all the fun I was having with my friends, I didn't have a chance to try the cake until the next day. So, I totally wasn't surprised when I opened the box the next day and part of the fondant came off the cake and onto the side of the box. I had been carrying around the box in a bag all afternoon at Disney Springs, so it was totally understandable. I was disappointed when I tried it and didn't really like it. I don't know if it's necessarily worth $20. It is obviously stunning to look at it but in all actuality it's not that much cake, its mainly decorations. However, the layers were very detailed, unique and beautifully put together. Taste: 5/10 Appearance: 10/10

After we got dinner, my friends wanted to go to Gideon's Bakehouse. They have cookies that are 1/2 a pound! They also sell frosting and cake slices, which were $9 a piece when we went. Now, the interior of the bakery is very small, so in order to maintain social distancing, you wait in a virtual queue in order to enter. Basically, you give your number to the cast members outside and you receive a text when you can enter. For us, I think the wait was between an hour or two, if I recall correctly. After receiving the text, we entered a line outside the building to then enter the bakery. They had a cast member outside the door monitoring the amount of people coming in and out. It was super cold (speaking as a Floridian) since it was at night but the live entertainment nearby made it not too bad of a wait at all.

I had such a good time at Disney Springs and hopefully I'll be back soon!

And as always, thank you so much for reading and I'll write to you later. Bye!

HUGS!
